Fall pARTy: Great Music. Local Art.
We’re bringing music and art together for one exciting evening at the return of the Fall pARTy, sponsored by First State Community Bank. MACOA’s Fall pARTy will be held 7-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at Twin Oaks Vineyard, 6470 Hwy F, Farmington. Tickets for the fund-raiser, $25 each, cover hors d’oeuvres and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will be available. Seating is limited, so tickets should be purchased early to guarantee a seat. Tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.com or from MACOA Executive Director Danielle Basler, (573) 518-2125. St. Louis swing band, Miss Jubilee, will return as this year’s performer. The band has been playing gigs throughout St. Louis and beyond since 2007. “Their repertoire is an exciting blend of authentic hot jazz, swing, R&B and rock and roll, spanning the 1920s to 1950s. They were well-received at last year’s event and we are pleased to have them back again,” Basler said. Fronted by a high energy female vocalist and backed by a swingin’ horn-fueled rhythm section, Miss Jubilee is said to be a favorite among swing dancers and fans of all ages who enjoy upbeat and energetic music. Basler said, in addition to great music, a silent auction of artwork created by local artists will be held. The diverse selection includes paintings, photos, textiles and more. “We’re excited at the artwork that has been so graciously donated for this year’s event,” she said, “This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the talent of local artists and to introduce arts enthusiasts and collectors to work that is being created in our area.” Check out our Facebook event page for a preview of some of the artwork! Proceeds from the event will support Mineral Area Council on the Arts and its mission to provide arts and cultural opportunities to the community.(Photo by Ben Hejkal)
