Banner contest returns!

Did you get a chance to enjoy the artwork of great K-12 student artists last summer in downtown Farmington? (No? Want to see them again? Check out our Facebook album here) It was a great way to add some beauty to the downtown area and gave some young artists the opportunity to have their talent showcased. We’re excited to announce that the contest is returning for 2016 and will be on display for two seasons! Yes, this year’s winners will be highlighted during both the spring and summer of 2016 as banners on the lightpoles in Farmington!

This year’s theme, Literary Works and Characters, is a nod to the 100th anniversary of the city’s first library. We want to see how great books, poems and stories inspire you to create art! All entries should be your artistic interpretation of a literary work or character. All artwork should be original…no copyrighted characters!

Download the 2016 Banner Contest form here. Entries are due to the Mineral Area Council on the Arts or the Farmington Public Library by January 29, 2016.
