Annual MACOA Events

In addition to its mainstage performances, MACOA remains committed to arts education and outreach through several annual programs that serve both youth and adults across the region.

ART Blooms Banner Contest
The ART Blooms Banner Contest continues to be one of the organization’s most visible initiatives. Winning artwork from local students and community members is transformed into street banners displayed throughout ten towns in the region, bringing public art directly into everyday life.

K–12 Student Art Show
Held at Mineral Area College, the annual K–12 Student Art Show celebrates the work of emerging young artists. The exhibit features a wide variety of media and provides an important platform for students to share their creative achievements with the community.

Creative Writing Contest and Workshop
This long-standing program encourages self-expression through writing. Open to writers 9-12th grade and adults, the contest includes an in-person writing workshop and a public recognition event for selected submissions.

Summer Nights Arts Festival
This outdoor fair, held in downtown Farmington, highlights the talents of local visual artists, performers, and musicians. It also serves as an important gathering space for the community to experience live art, shop local vendors, and celebrate the creative spirit of the region.
