Future Artists Fund – Scholarships for Schools!

MACOA Announces the Future Artists Fund to Support Local School Arts Programs

The Mineral Area Council on the Arts (MACOA) is proud to introduce the Future Artists Fund, a brand-new scholarship initiative designed to support the fine arts in local schools. This fund will provide $1,500 in total awards, with $500 allocated to each discipline—visual art, theatre, and music—helping schools bring creative projects to life. Applications are linked below. Please read the guidelines as they give step by step instruction on how to fill out the application.

The Future Artists Fund is open to all school districts under the Mineral Area Council on the Arts. Schools can apply for support in a variety of ways, such as:

  • Purchasing art supplies for a special project
  • Funding costumes or set pieces for a theatre production
  • Covering sheet music or small instrument repairs for band and choir programs
  • Supporting guest artist workshops, competition fees, or other arts-related needs
  • Things that would benefit students in your department, short-term or long-term

How to Apply:
Schools must submit an application detailing how the funds will be used to enhance their arts programs. Funds will be distributed directly to schools, ensuring they go toward projects that have a meaningful impact on students. Multiple schools within a discipline (art, music, or theatre) may be awarded, with the total per discipline not exceeding $500.

“We know that even a small investment can make a big difference in an arts program, whether it’s providing much-needed materials, helping a theatre department complete a set, or giving music students the chance to perform with new sheet music. This scholarship fund is one more way MACOA is working to strengthen the arts in our community and support the next generation of artists.” – Tiffany Gallaher
