Pose & Practice – Live Drawing Session

Pose and Practice

MACOA and MAC Art Department Present “Pose & Practice” – A Live Figure Drawing Session

Calling all artists! The Mineral Area Council on the Arts (MACOA) and the MAC Art Department are teaming up to bring you the first Pose & Practice, an exclusive live figure drawing session. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking to refine your skills, this open-studio session is the perfect opportunity to practice drawing from a live model in a creative and supportive environment.

Join us Saturday, March 29th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the MAC Tech building in the Innovation Bay. Artists 18+ are welcome. IDs will be requested upon arrival. Cost is $20 per artist to cover the model fees. Bring your own wet or dry media and create your artwork!

Limited seats are available! This session provides a focused, uninterrupted drawing experience, offering a range of poses and gestures to help artists explore form, movement, and expression. All skill levels are welcome!

“Drawing from life is an invaluable practice for any artist. It sharpens observation skills, improves technique, and allows for creative expression in ways that photos just can’t match. We’re excited to offer this experience alongside the MAC Art Department and can’t wait to see the incredible work that comes from it. This event was proposed by our board member and MAC’s Arts Instructor, Abril Warner. We know that many artists do not get an opportunity like this in our area.” – Tiffany Gallaher
