25th Annual MAC Art Show Celebrates Milestone Year with Record Attendance

25th Annual MAC Art Show Celebrates Milestone Year with Record Attendance

On Friday, April 25, 2025, Mineral Area College proudly hosted the 25th Annual Art Show—marking a quarter-century of showcasing the creative talents of students from across the region. This year’s event was the biggest and most successful yet, drawing over 300 attendees to the awards, thousands during the exhibit and featuring more than 2,000 pieces of artwork on display.

To accommodate the growth of the show, the event moved to the Mineral Area College ITC building. The new venue provided an ideal setting for the exhibit, offering a spacious, single-level layout that improved accessibility for guests, as well as ample parking. The enhanced space allowed for a smoother flow of visitors and a more engaging experience for students, families, and community members alike.

One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition ceremony, where several individuals were honored for their contributions and dedication to the show’s success over the years. Special recognition was given to Sue Heimburger, Betty Fridley, Kathy Heine, and Sheryl Sieve for their tireless efforts and leadership in helping the art show grow into the community tradition it has become.

The celebration also acknowledged the dedication of the many teachers who have participated in the art show. Educators were recognized for their years of involvement, including those who have contributed for 1 year, 5 years, 10+ years, and remarkably, a few who have supported the show for all 25 years.

We then honored our T-Shirt winners, and best of show winners, and excellence award winners! The evening was a true testament to the power of art and community. With thousands of pieces on display and many gathered to celebrate, the 25th Annual MAC Art Show not only honored the past but also looked forward to the future, inspiring the next generation of young artists. We cannot wait to continue to grow and improve year by year. The MACOA K-12 Student Art Show is here to stay.
